From the most unlikely and humble of bathroom-scapes to the overwhelming arches of European cathedrals, most of us have seen a mosaic. While each individual piece maintains its own unique shape and color, together the parts create a stunning work of art! The beauty of a mosaic, however, does not rest solely on its ornate designs  or stunning depiction, and definitely not on its location, but rather its beauty comes from its brokenness. It takes the shards, the waste, the “not-good-enoughs” and makes them whole. Together the ugliness and the brokenness somehow become beautiful.
